Relocating to Kent
Kent or “the garden of England” as it is widely known offers excellent commuter links into London with stunning countryside and coastline. It has a wealth of historical links from Roman ruins, the battle of Hastings along with strong links to Henry VIII in villages such as Penshurst.
Trains run into Victoria, Charing Cross, London Bridge and Cannon Street. Ashford International station allows you to pick up the Eurostar without coming into London.
The Cathederal City of Canterbury is located in the east of the county not too far from Dover and Folkestone where you can pick up the cross channel ferry.
The River Medway feeds off the Thames estuary to the east of the county, this is where you will find the towns of Rochester, Chatham and Gillingham.
To the west of the county there are many pretty towns such as Tunbridge Wells, Sevenoaks, Cranbrook and Tenterden all of which are surrounded by picturesque villages.
Kent is dotted with Oast houses which were used to dry the hops, many have now been converted to interesting houses.
