Home finders in Chelsea, London.

Chelsea, close to the epicentre of London with the Thames at the South and the Kings Road with it’s plethora of shops running through the middle. Chelsea is a highly desirable area of London. Apartments and houses are plentiful and it boasts the very best restaurants and night-life. It is a very safe area of London and one of the most expensive, Sloane Square at the Eastern end of the Kings Road regarded by many as the heart of ‘rich’ London.

Chelsea has many famous residents, including Kylie Minogue, Liz Hurley and a good scattering of premier league footballers and Russian Oligarchs including Roman Abramovich.

Away from the buzz of the Kings Road, there are many garden squares and side streets with sweet terraced houses giving an almost village like environment. Also the Thames embankment is not a long stroll from anywhere in Chelsea with Cheyne Walk being a prime location overlooking the river and the houseboats.

If budget allows (a 2 bed flat in 2011 could easily cost £2m), it is a wonderful sophisticated place to live. The drawbacks, particularly closer to the river are the lack of tube links, but many feel a taxi ride is a good compromise for a fabulous location.

There are some very large developments close to the river, Chelsea Harbour and St Georges Wharf which offer very modern apartments and concierge style living. However for traditional and character properties the heart of Chelsea is the place to be.

Oh yes.. and there is a football club!
